Koumos, on the edge of Kalyves in western Crete, is an eccentric but fascinating place. Begun as a project to display locally found historical artefacts, it now incorporates a café, bar and taverna decorated with bizarre stone models, trunks and roots of trees, goat horns and much more besides.
