Part of the Acropolis modelled in Giorgioupoli.

This set of photos shows examples of some excellent scale models of  iconic landmarks in Athens and Crete. As an indication of the scale, the Acropolis model is 3 - 3½m high.

Created by a local taverna and apartment owner in Giorgioupolis, western Crete, the models are built using individual stones and are clearly a labour of love. This is an ongoing project and at least one more feature is nearing completion.
